-- Looking Ahead
Greetings! We hope you have enjoyed the summer. The monsoon rains finally arrived in Sonoita, late, but nonetheless more than welcomed by us and the very parched grasslands. Just after the first rains, we left for the Pacific Northwest, where we spent three weeks divided between intensive photographing of beach and intertidal zones on the Oregon and California coasts, and visiting our daughter Kathy and her family in Washington, and our granddaughter, Rebecca in Pacific Grove, CA. Over the past 5 years, we have both developed a love for the Oregon and Northern California coasts, and have each been investing more time in trying to express our growing connection to these very different 'land'scapes in new images. As our efforts begin to yield coherent 'stories' we hope to share them with you. Turning to the immediate future, we want to bring to your attention the artist receptions for our Tucson shows in September. We hung both shows yesterday and are very happy with the way they appear on the walls. The reception for Karen's show at the Tucson Botanical Garden is Friday evening, Sept. 9, from 5:30 - 7:30. The reception for Steve's show at the Temple Gallery will be held on the opening night of the Arizona Theater Company season on Sept. 23 at 5:30pm. We hope to see many of you there and to talk to you about our images. More details about the show follow. | August Activity ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When the show closes in Fort Collins it will be on exhibit at the Denver International Airport. Karen's website has been recently updated. A new portfolio of her tiling images has been added. In addition, a set of movies intended to show her thought processes as she constructs some of the images in her Architectronics series is now available for viewing. In addition to the new portfolio of Earth and Mars images, the Press page on Steve's website now contains an audio interview, conducted over the telephone by Brooks Jensen, of Lenswork Publishing. The interview is included in Lenswork Extended #89, a DVD publication, which also includes a portfolio of 43 of Steve's color images. | Looking Ahead ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
