Greetings!

This is just a quick note to make you aware of upcoming shows where some of Karen's recent work has been selected for inclusion.

One of the images from Karen's American Motel series was selected for inclusion in Arizona Biennial '09 at the Tucson Museum of Art. Works from 44 Arizona artists working in all media were selected for this show by juror Tim Rodgers, Chief Curator at the New Mexico Museum of Art. The opening reception will be held this Friday evening, June 10, at 5:30 at the museum. I hope to see many of you there.

At the conclusion of the show, which runs through September 26, this photograph will be included in a silent auction to be held on Saturday, September 26, for the benefit of the museum. A cocktail party will begin at 4:30 and the auction will begin at 5:30.

One of the images from Karen's primary series of imaginary landscapes, "Old Adobe, Terlingua, TX", has been accepted into The Art of Photography. This exhibition, juried by Charlotte Cotton, Curator and Head of the Photography Department at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, will be at the Lyceum Theater in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. The 111 pieces to be shown were selected from over 15,000 entries from 57 countries.

The opening reception starts at 5 pm on Saturday, August 29. I hope that some of you will be able to make it.

We have been told that the books have made it across the ocean from Italy and have actually arrived at the distributors. However we have not yet seen any of our copies. When these copies arrive we will send out another newsletter to let you know how you may obtain a signed copy.

The book is also available for pre-order from Amazon. We don't know when they will actually be shipping copies as the official publication date is September 1.
