Greetings! We are sending this newsletter a few days early so we can remind you of 2 events during the last few days of October, and to fill you in on our planned activities in what promises to be a very busy November.
Late October Events ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On October 28, Steve will give a talk summarizing the evolution of his photographic vision and sign copies of his new monograph, Earth Forms, at the Tubac Center for the Arts on Plaza Road in Tubac from 5 - 7 pm. For those unable to attend this book signing, we would like to remind you that you may obtain a signed copy of Earth Forms directly from us. Please visit the book website to see examples of its content. If you would like to purchase a copy, just reply to this email and we will be happy to make arrangements with you. We also offer a combination of a signed book with a signed print (8" x 8") of one of the images in the book, for $90. Of course, the book is also available from Amazon.com.
On October 30, Doug Isbell and Steve will be at Starizona, 5757 N. Oracle Rd., Suite 103, in Tucson at 7 pm. They will present a summary of their new book, Observatories of the Southwest: A Guide for Curious Skywatchers and will sign books. November events ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of Karen's photographs, Breakfast at La Chiusa, has been accepted into the Tubac Center for the Arts Member's Juried Exhibit. The opening reception for that show will be held on November 20 from 5 - 7 pm. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend that reception but hope that many of you can. Steve has photographs in 2 exhibits opening during the second week of November. The first exhibit is a three person show at Verve Gallery in Santa Fe which also includes the landscape photography of Matilda Essig and Don Kirby. There will be a private reception for collectors on November 12 and a public opening and reception on November 13 from 5 - 7 pm.. Don Kirby and Steve will give gallery talks and sign copies of their new books from 2 - 4 pm on November 14. The exhibition will be up through Friday, January 8, 2010. The second is Canyons of the Southwest at the Exhibit Hall at Tohono Chul Park which opens on November 12 with a reception from 5 - 7 pm. Unfortunately we will not be able at attend as we will be in Santa Fe for events at Verve. Steve has 8 photographs in this show (which will run until January 8). Finally, as a result of the international exposure Karen's work is receiving as a finalist in the Photolucida Critical Mass competition, as mentioned last month, 20 of Karen's images will be shown in a large scale presentation at the "Night of Photography" of the festival Kaunas Photo Days in Lithuania on November 12. Needless to say, Karen will not be able to attend that event either.
